Ingredients- The Dish Diary

·                4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed

·                4 slices of bread

·                1 onion, chopped

·                2 green chilies, chopped

·                1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

·                1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

·                1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

·                1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

·                Salt to taste

·                2 tablespoons oil

 

Recipe Instructions- The Dish Diary

1.              Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the chopped onions and green chilies. Saute until the onions turn translucent.

2.              Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan. Mix well and cook for a minute.

3.              Add the mashed potatoes to the pan and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4.              Take the bread slices and cut off the edges. Dip each slice in water for a few seconds, then squeeze out the excess water.

5.              Place a spoonful of the potato mixture on one side of each bread slice and fold the other side over it, pressing gently to form a sandwich.

6.              Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat and add a little oil. Place the bread sandwiches on the pan and cook until both sides are golden brown and crisp.

7.              Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice.
