Here's a simple recipe for Baisan Roti:
Ingredients:

1 cup besan (gram flour)
- ·
1/4 tsp salt
- ·
1/4 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
- ·
1/4 tsp red chili powder
(optional)
- ·
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- ·
1/2 cup water
- ·
1 tbsp oil for dough + extra for
cooking rotis
Recipe:
1.
In a large mixing bowl, add
besan, salt, ajwain, red chili powder (if using) and turmeric powder. Mix
everything together.
2.
Add 1 tbsp of oil and mix again.
Gradually add water and knead into a smooth and soft dough. Cover and let it
rest for 10-15 minutes.
3.
Divide the dough into small
portions and roll them into balls. Flatten each ball and dust it with dry
besan.
4.
Roll each ball into a thin
circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
5.
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa
over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, place the rolled out roti on the
pan.
6.
Cook the roti for about 1-2
minutes on one side or until small bubbles appear on the surface. Flip it over
and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until golden brown spots appear on both
sides.
7.
Apply a little oil on both sides
and cook for another 30-40 seconds or until crisp.
8.
Remove from the pan and serve
hot with your favorite curry or chutney.
