Ingredients:

    1 lb. ground beef or mutton
  • ·       2 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
  • ·       1 large onion, finely chopped
  • ·       2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ·       1 tsp ginger paste
  • ·       2-3 green chilies, chopped (optional)
  • ·       1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ·       1 tsp coriander powder
  • ·       1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • ·       1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • ·       Salt to taste
  • ·       2-3 tbsp oil or ghee
  • ·       Fresh cilantro leaves for garnishing

       Recipe:

.        Heat oil or ghee in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.


2.      Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.


3.      Add minced garlic, ginger paste, and chopped green chilies (if using) and sauté for another minute.


4.       Add ground meat to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until the meat is browned and all the liquid has evaporated.


5.      Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.


6.      Add diced potatoes to the pan and mix well. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of water, cover the pan, and cook until the potatoes are tender and cooked through. (This should take about 15-20 minutes)


7.     Once the potatoes are cooked, uncover the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the dish has reached your desired consistency.


8.      Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or bread.
