·                500g all-purpose flour

·                2 eggs

·                250ml warm water

·                500g ground lamb or beef

·                1 large onion, finely chopped

·                2-3 cloves garlic, minced

·                1 tsp salt

·                1/2 tsp black pepper

·                1/2 tsp cumin

·                1/4 tsp paprika

·                1/4 tsp coriander

·                1/4 tsp cinnamon

·                1/4 tsp allspice

·                1/4 tsp nutmeg

·                1/4 cup butter, melted

·                1 cup plain yogurt

·                Salt and black pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions: Manti @ The Dish Diary

 

1.              In a large bowl, combine the flour, eggs, and water. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a towel and let rest for 30 minutes.

2.            In a separate bowl, mix together the ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg.

3.            On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut the dough into small squares, about 2 inches in size.

4.            Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each square. Fold the edges of the square over the meat, pinching the corners together to form a small dumpling.

5.            Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dumplings to the pot and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the dough is cooked and the meat is no longer pink.

6.             In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, yogurt, salt, and black pepper. Serve the dumplings hot, topped with the yogurt sauce. Enjoy!
